So the building where I would've worked, had I gotten that job with the county, is going to be closed (if I'm reading the paper's correctly, in addition to the county jail). All inmates currently housed here in Prescott will be transferred to Camp Verde.

This is lolz for real. According to the mayor it's in response to the economic crisis and being able to save a supposed $2 million, in addition to being "safer." For those of you who don't live here, this is a super retarded move.

Camp Verde is over an hour away. Forget the hours and resources that will be wasted to simply transfer the roughly 600 inmates sitting in county jail. What the fuck are the officers supposed to do when they arrest someone and have to book them? They have to drive all the way to Camp Verde and back, that's 2+ hours, not including booking time. That's 2+ hours that officer will be off the street; this is safer how?

Retarded monkeys. All of them.

This year I've been busy!

Last Tuesday I gave pen_of_jen a kidney (1000 points). In March I pulled illuminated_sin's hair (-5 points). Last Sunday I didn't flush (-1 points). In August I helped sugarplumkate see the light (8 points). In April I set montmorency's puppy on fire (-66 points).

Overall, I've been nice (936 points). For Christmas I deserve an Easy-Bake Oven!

I was planning on staying away from LJ for most the night and just kind of keeping to myself, but in light of the milestone that has just taken place in my country, I feel the need to express how utterly ecstatic I am!

As I watch Barack Obama deliver is victory speech in Chicago, I can't help but feel so completely overwhelmed by how loud our country spoke today. People of all social, physical, economical, political, and racial backgrounds got out and made a difference. In the largest voter turnout our country has ever seen, history has been firmly made - Barack Obama has been elected the 44th and first African American President of the United States of America. I've always been proud of my country; I've never wished that I was anything but American. But for the first time in a long time, I have faith in my country. I have faith that change has arrived. I know that this victory is not the ultimate change we seek, but the beginning of an uphill battle to reform and rebuild a national unity and heal the divides that hold back our progress. It won't be easy, and I know that the government will not fix all our problems. But I remain hopeful in the fact that my voice was not only heard tonight, but listened to.
